The conference format has three strands: Asian/Pacific Islander Leadership; Outreach to Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Communities, and AAPI Research. We are calling for individuals to present workshops on leadership development and outreach to AAPI communities. We are also calling individuals to present summaries of research papers on AAPIs. Research topics might be any of the following:

Education (includes, but not limited to, the following topics)
Heritage, Language, and Culture Multicultural Education
Bilingualism English Language Acquisition
Teacher Education No Child Left Behind
Higher Education Ethnic Studies

Community Development (includes, but not limited to, the following topics)
Youth Advocacy Social and Legal Services
Political Participation Business and Politics
Community Service Learning Family-School-Community Partnership
School Boards Public Policy
Health

Social, Health, and Cultural Issues (includes, but not limited to, the following topics)
Identity Labor
Asian American Media Production Dependency and Addiction
Immigration Gender and Sexuality
Asian and Pacific Islander American Images Myth of Model Minority
Demographic Changes Hate Crimes
Interracial Dating and Marriage Wartime Internment of Japanese Americans
